Is my baby crying a lot?
When you're exhausted, it's hard to know what “a lot” really means.
- Was your baby crying for twenty minutes or an hour?
- Has today actually been worse than yesterday?
- Is the crying happening more often – or does it just feel that way after another difficult night?
Oodi helps you keep track of what has actually been happening and see how your baby’s crying changes over time.

See the pattern, not just the difficult moments
A difficult evening can feel endless.
After several difficult days, remembering exactly what happened becomes surprisingly hard.
Oodi gives you something clearer to look back on.
When did the crying happen?
How long did it last?
How often did it happen?
Has the pattern changed?
Instead of relying only on tired memories, you can see your baby’s crying across days and weeks.
Keep track. See change. Add context.
Keep track in the way that works for you
Record crying yourself
Mark when crying starts and stops.
Automatic detection
Oodi can also detect crying while you're using the monitoring function and record its timing and duration.
No crying audio stored
Oodi uses the information needed to create the crying record without storing recordings of your baby's crying
What can Oodi help me see?
Oodi gives you a visual history to look back on when questions become difficult to answer from memory.
1. How much has my baby been crying?
See crying events and total crying over time.
2. When does the crying happen?
See when crying tends to occur throughout the day and night.
3. Has something changed?
Compare days and weeks instead of judging everything from one difficult moment.
Instead of trying to reconstruct everything after another exhausting night, you have a clearer picture of what has actually been happening.
Because numbers aren't the whole story
Two babies can cry for the same amount of time.
Two parents can experience that crying very differently.
How much your baby cries matters.
But how you’re experiencing it matters too.
A graph should never tell you that you shouldn’t be worried.
If something doesn’t feel right, trust that concern.
Oodi is there to give you a clearer record of what has been happening – not to replace your instincts.
A clearer picture when you need to talk about it
Sometimes you may want to talk about your baby’s crying with a health visitor, GP, midwife or another healthcare professional.
Questions like:
When did it happen?
How long did it last?
How often?
Has it changed?
can be surprisingly difficult to answer after several exhausting nights.
Oodi gives you a structured record that you can choose to bring into that conversation.
It doesn't diagnose your baby or tell a healthcare professional what the answer is.
It simply gives you something clearer to talk about.
Built by listening to parents
We didn’t start by assuming we knew what parents needed.
During the development of Oodi, we’ve spoken with around 200 parents.
In our survey of 170 parents, more than 80% said they had experienced uncertainty about whether their baby’s amount of crying was normal.
We’ve also developed Oodi with input from healthcare professionals and through real-world testing in Finland.
One question kept coming back:
Is my baby crying a lot?
Oodi is our attempt to make that question a little easier to explore.
Context, not diagnosis
Oodi is a wellbeing product, not a diagnostic tool.
Oodi doesn’t diagnose medical conditions.
- It doesn’t tell you why your baby is crying.
- It doesn’t tell you what your baby needs from an individual cry.
And it doesn’t replace your judgement or professional healthcare.
If you’re worried about your baby, seek appropriate healthcare advice regardless of what Oodi shows.
